Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to volunteer at Rock Creek and we are always so grateful for the support!  We need volunteers to assist with events, fundraisers, and other activities throughout the school year.  Below is a partial list of the many available volunteer opportunities:

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Complete a background check (see below)
  • Sign in and out on the computer in the front office when volunteering
  • Wear a school-approved name tag while in the buildings
  • Operate under the direction of a licensed staff member
  • Protect teachers’ and students’ right to privacy
  • Be professional in your commitment
  • Be dependable and punctual

Volunteer Background Check Requirement

For the safety of our students, it is the school’s policy that all adults that are on school property during school hours for events (Rocket Run, Class Parties, etc.) need to have an approved background check on file with the Beaverton School District. You can find the Background Check Application on the District’s website. Please fill one out today; it may take three (3) weeks to be approved. 

Please be aware, only background-cleared volunteers are able to assist with classroom activities. Visitors and younger siblings are not able to attend the classroom activities. All volunteers must sign in on the volunteer computer and wear their badges.

Fundraisers

We raise funds to help us meet our PTC mission: to strengthen the relationship between school and community in order to enhance the educational experience of every student. The PTC will raise funds to support educational opportunities and supplement the needs of the school to promote academic, cultural, and enrichment activities.

Activities include: Art Literacy, Family Movie Night, Class Field Trips, and Room Parties to name just a few.

Fred Meyer

Give back to your Rock Creek PTC by just shopping at Fred Meyer.  Simply designate Rock Creek Elementary School Parent-Teacher Club as your preferred organization in the Community Rewards section of your online profile. It really is that easy!

  1. Visit Fred Meyer Community Rewards and click Re-Enroll or Link your RewardsCard now
  2. Log in to your Fred Meyer account
  3. Search for Rock Creek Elementary School Parent-Teacher Club either by name or YN940 and then click Enroll

*You still earn your own Rewards Points, Fuel Points, and Rebates, just as you do today.

*If you do not have a Rewards Card, they are available at the Customer Service desk of any Fred Meyer store.

Rocket Run

The annual Rocket Run is the PTC’s largest fundraiser and provides a majority of the funding for the year’s activities. We encourage every family to participate.

Many businesses have a company-match gift programs.

  1. Ask your employer if your company has a Matching Funds program
  2. Turn in Rocket Run and any other PTC donation receipts to your employer. 

If your company offers it, you can make your Rocket Run donation to the PTC on your company match site:

  • Verify you have the correct school; in some systems you will find multiple Rock Creek Elementary Schools.
  • If you can add comments, please put “Rocket Run”
  • Print out your receipt and include it in your student’s Rocket Run pledge envelope
  • Intel employees can go to https://intel.benevity.org/user/login

Dine-Out Nights

When Rock Creek families dine in (or take out) at local restaurants on specific dates those establishments donate a percentage of their sales to Rock Creek PTC! Look for announcements and information in the Rocketeer, our website, Facebook, and flyers sent home with your child.
