  • Complete a background check (see below)
  • Sign in and out on the computer in the front office when volunteering
  • Wear a school-approved name tag while in the buildings
  • Operate under the direction of a licensed staff member
  • Protect teachers’ and students’ right to privacy

Volunteer Background Check Requirement

For the safety of our students, it is the school’s policy that all adults that are on school property during school hours for events (Rocket Run, Class Parties, etc.) need to have an approved background check on file with the Beaverton School District. You can find the Background Check Application on the District’s website. Please fill one out today; it may take three (3) weeks to be approved.

Please be aware, only background-cleared volunteers are able to assist with classroom activities. Visitors and younger siblings are not able to attend the classroom activities. All volunteers must sign in on the volunteer computer and wear their badges.

If you have any questions, please contact the Volunteer Coordinators for more information.

Important COVID-related Information for Volunteers

Please keep in mind:

  • The Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 333-019-1030 requiring volunteers to provide a) proof of their COVID vaccination status or b) an Oregon Health Authority (OHA) exception form is still in place. Volunteers without either of those uploaded to their profile will not be able to view or sign up for volunteer activities.
  • The Beaverton School District Policy states that unvaccinated volunteers with approved exceptions may work with students, but the District requires that they be masked, despite the District’s general mask-optional policy, IF Washington County’s COVID-19 community level is listed as High per the CDC website.
  • Beaverton School District’s COVID Protocols can be found on this webpage
